Merry Christmas!

Well here we are in the middle of another Christmas season. Where does the time go? There will be many of you who will be directed here this year in lieu of a Christmas card/letter. But hey, I was laid off of work and this is a great way to save on some of the costs at the holidays. I really enjoy the Christmas season, but I often find myself getting after the boys to such an extent that I wonder if they think I really do enjoy it or if they themselves are able to enjoy it while I am in the middle of a fit over some trivial stupidity.

As I mentioned, I was laid off after 5 1/2 years at DHL. It was rough and in some ways, it still is. We have managed to stay afloat so far and we are looking for things to get much better at the first of the year.

Robin was released as R.S. President and is now the Cubmaster. She will have to add her own comments to the blog and let you know how things are.

Nathan is still doing very well in school and in scouts. In a month, he will be a Life scout and in another 6 months after that will probably be Eagle or at least very close.

Evan recently turned 11 and is now a scout in his own right. He is off to a strong start with 4 partials on required merit badges. We all recently went to Joshua Tree and it was Evan's first scout overnighter. It was a great time for all. He is doing well in school and has earned the nickname 'Joe' because of his Joe Cool cap that he wore on the first day.

Ryan is a great student as well. Like all of his brothers, he enjoys Legos and video games. He is very smart and is doing great in 2nd grade.

Daran has recenly told us that he is now to be known as King Darebear. We had been calling him the prince, but he has usrped authority and assumed his throne as king. He also started recently this thing of jumping on his toes. It isn't like what you might think. He stands on his toes and then curls them under so the weight is on the tops of his toes. Then he jumps. It looks totally painful, but he just laughs. I'll have to post a video. His favorite thing to wear is still his underwear...only.

I am so blessed to have the family that I do. I love them all. In time I will post more so please bookmark this page and tune in from time to time. If you have a blog, make sure we know the URL so we can keep tabs on you as well. Merry Christmas!
